JULIE HEINRICHS —CEDAR GROVE FARM ART STUDIO

Julie’s paintings express a fascination with light as well as the abstraction of movement and pattern and the interactive nature of colour. Subject matter is diverse and is rendered with direct and bold brushwork. The paintings invite the viewer in to explore, discover and to evoke an emotion or memory to complete the story. Julie creates with the various mediums of watercolour, acrylic, mixed media and silk dyes.

Born in south-western Ontario, Julie was encouraged to draw and develop her art from an early age. She initially followed a career path of business development in the logistics world. In 2000, a renewed interest in fine arts opened a parallel track and Julie filled all spare hours with creative activities. Painting became a passion and led to a full time commitment in 2007 when relocating to Lion’s Head, Ontario.

Extensive self training as well as many influences from workshop instructors and participation in peer associations have contributed to Julie’s growth as an artist.

Julie is a member of the BPSA (Bruce Peninsula Society of Artists) ON and is an active participant in the BPSA Studio Tour where she and guest artists welcome people into her home.

Studio is open by appointment.

“I am happiest when I paint. I feel such passion to capture the beauty of a flower, scene or sunset. If someone shares that I feel so rewarded.” ~ Julie Heinrichs
